LAX has one of the most interesting control towers on the planet. And it's just _so_ LA!

The California Speedway in Fontana (about an hour east of LAX) is an amazing facility... in an extremely industrial area. If you're in the market for a semi rig, need an alignment (only $29.99!) or are in the mood for a massage, this place is for you.

Once you are inside the gates, the Fontana track is one heck of a track facility. There is a TON of parking for the NASCAR events.

You'd be working on the car, or standing in line (as we are here), look up and see the mountains. What a majestic sight -- it caught me by surprise almost every time I saw them.

The car's really looking great, after HOURS and HOURS of work by Ian and the guys at Hockley Autosport. Here, Ian (right) speaks with co-driver Kevin York.

The sessions are staggered between Grand Am Cup and the Rolex cars. So sometimes we are in the pits together with the Daytona Protypes. The Chip Ganassi team were really nice, allowing us to use their computers during qualifying.

We're really thrilled. Ten finishes in ten races (four of them in the top 10). A really amazing first year in pro racing. From left, Derek, Ian, Kevin, Karl and Aron.

You can see us on the leader board at the end of the race: 21st overall, and ninth in class...
